Republic Day is a day that is celebrated enthusiastically throughout the country. This is of constitutional importance for us Indians. It is the day of the implementation of our Constitution. This is very special for us because the constitutional system of the country is governed by it. Since 26 January 1950, it has been celebrated continuously every year. Earlier, the country was ruled by the British for a long time. After years of slavery, our country finally became independent on August 15, 1947. Three years later, it also gained the status of a fully democratic country. Our law operates in the country. Previously, British law worked. The Indian Constitution was passed by the country’s Parliament after completing 2 years 11 months and 18 days on this day. Subsequently, India declared itself a democratic republic. This day is the center of our democratic values. We have the distinction of being citizens of the world’s largest democracy.

Respected Chief Guest, teacher and all my dear friends, first of all, I wish you a very Happy Republic Day. Today we are celebrating the 72nd Republic Day. This day is a day for all of us to honor our nation. Republic means that the people of the country have the right to elect their political leaders for the development of the country.

We citizens of the country are also responsible for its development. Our country became free from British rule on 15 August 1947. But the Constitution came into force on 26 January 1950. Therefore, we celebrate that day every year as Republic Day. A large display of Indian culture and tradition is also performed by various Indian states to show unity in diversity in India.

Before concluding this speech, I would like to thank all of you for giving me the opportunity to express my feelings about Republic Day, and I am proud to be an Indian where we have all kinds of freedom.

First of all I would like to say good morning to our esteemed Principal, my teachers, my senators and colleagues. Let us tell you something about this special occasion. Today we are celebrating the 71st Republic Day of our nation. It began to be celebrated in 1950, two and a half years after India’s independence in 1947. We celebrate it every year on 26 January because our Constitution came into force on the same day. After independence from British rule in 1947, India was not a self-governing county which meant a sovereign state. When the Constitution of India came into force in 1950, India became a self-sufficient country. Today we are proud that we are citizens of the largest democratic nation in the world.

Honorable Chief Guest of today’s program, respected principal, fellow teachers, parents and all my dear friends. This time we are celebrating the 72nd Republic Day of India that is why we have gathered here. Today I am going to say a few words about the soil of the Republic, which is a very special day for all Indian citizens.

India celebrates Republic Day every year from 1950 to 26 January as India was declared a Republic country on this day and at the same time the Constitution of India came into force after long years of struggle. India gained independence on August 15 in 1947 and two and a half years later it became a Democratic Republic. Republic Day in India has great importance in history as it tells about each struggle of Indian freedom fighters. Unity in diversity is the basic identity of this country. We are proud that we are citizens of such a constitutional nation.
